Tropical Cyclone SSMI - Composite Map for Typhoon Tokage

Last night, we had a strong wind blowing throughout the whole building. To see what's happened, let's take a look on the satellite images. Wow, there's something new to me. It's a COMPOSITE MAP which stands for the heart of the up-to-date modern satellite images for typhoon movement.

Here it is! The recent situation of Typhoon Tokage!

As a beginner of satellite meteorology, I just feel it exciting to see this image but have no instinct on it. Surely, I should pay more attention on the technical details.

Does it show the emergence of inner eyewall in this typhoon ? I just feel it uneasy to identify the structures from so many types of images. Just keep going!

By the way, the CWB in Taiwan seems not to announce the Typhoon Alert to the public. They now just announce a warning to take care of the heavy rainfalls associating with the typhoon. In my viewpoint, it is more suitable to announce which region is much possible being threatened by the typhoon (the U.S 's way to do hurricane warning!). In other words, if the CWB announce no message but declaring a heavy rainfall warning, it may mislead the public to ignore the threats from this Typhoon Tokage. After all, this is a strong or very strong (Category 3 ~ 4) typhoon.
